Our local brands have more than 50 years of historical presence. With our strong regional anchors, we can provide services to customers nationwide thanks to our 8,000 skilled employees based across more than 30 U.S. states and Canadian provinces.

In October 2022, Equans joined Bouygues, a diversified services group operating with 200,000 employees across 80 countries. Bouygues group's business activities in construction, energy services, media and telecommunications drive growth to satisfy constantly changing and essential needs.

Our local histories
Proud of its past and the expertise accumulated by our local companies, Equans NorAm brings together more than 8,000 employees under a single brand. The history of our local companies goes back to 1926. Over the decades, our local companies grew, developed their activities, acquired new customers, and continued to evolve to become a reference. We are proud to share a few key milestones of our operating company’s history :

B-G Mechanical is a third generation mechanical contracting company with close to 100 years of history. It was started in 1926 by German immigrant Bruno Goeldner.

In 1955, Plan Electrical started as a family-run electrical business serving the Greater Toronto Area.

In March 1969, John Conti threw an old door across a set of sawhorses, rolled out a set of prints, bid his first project, won it, and Conti Electric was born.

In 1971, Systecon, which stands for "system" and "controls," began manufacturing modular pump packages from its Ohio factory.

Also in 1971 was the creation of Gastier by Gaston Leduc and Berthier Pelletier, as an electrical contractor.

Ted Lyons started H.T. Lyons, a mechanical contracting activity in 1973 delivering services in Allentown Pennsylvania, for design, installation and service of mechanical systems for the commercial, industrial and institutional markets.

In 1974, Peter Striano founded Unity Electric with only one customer in the financial district in NYC. Unity continue to serve this customer and many more 50 years later!

Another entrepreneur, Daniel Donnelly, started Donnelly Mechanical in 1989 in basement of his home in Bayside Queens. Today Donnelly is the leading service provider in HVAC in Manhattan.

In 1992, Contrôles A.C. started its operation in Quebec, to provide controls and energy efficiency to commercial and industrial customers.
Our start as Equans NorAm
We began to build the Equans Noram story in 2017 with the acquisition of MEP Services – a group of 4 mechanical contractors in the Northeast.
Today, Equans Noram is composed of 15 operating companies in over 30 locations across the United States and Canada. Today, we are a leader in electrical and mechanical construction and facilities services, building services, and industrial services. In 2021, the birth of Equans NorAm brought our first five contractors and one facility management operator together under one brand. Most recently, 2023 has welcomed Plan Group and Gastier of Bouygues Energies and Services into the Equans NorAm family.
The success of our operating companies is a testimony of the values we are putting together at Equans Noram: be safe, be disciplined, be innovative, be collaborative. These values define and guide the way we operate on a daily basis, both within our companies and in the communities where we do business.
